Calvin Klein was born on 19th November 1942 in the Bronx, New York in a family of Hungarian Jewish immigrants. From his youth he became a close person of Baron Gungeburg December and thanks to him are his first appearances in the fashion world. In 1968 together with his childhood friend Barry Schwartz, based on Calvin Klein brand and opened a coat shop in one New York hotel. The following year, Mr. Klein appeared on the cover of the prestigious magazine “Vogue” and his work gradually gaining global popularity. Already in 1977 the company’s annual revenue jumped to $ 30 million. Started production of neckties, shoes, belts, sunglasses, fur coats, watches, and later underwear and cosmetics. In 2002 the company was sold to Phillips Van Hausen Corp. Today people buy Calvin Klein products for the name alone.
